Spring 2003 Speaking Tour with Community Religious Leaders from Arauca

The nationwide Speaking Tour of the Colombia Human Rights Network

American Friends Service Committee, Catholic Relief Service, Christian Church and United Church of Christ Global Ministries, Connecticut Conference of the United Church of Christ, Church World Service, Episcopal Church, Franciscan Washington Office on Latin America, Jesuit Refugee Service, Lutheran World Relief, Maryknoll Office for Global Concerns

 

 brings a Protestant lay leader and a Catholic parish priest from Arauca

 

on a 14 city ecumenical tour

 

to speak of their work with displaced and marginalized populations, the current situation of the churches in Colombia, and the impact of the recent expansion of U.S. military assistance to the department of Arauca, designated a Zone of Rehabilitation and Consolidation in August 2002 by Colombia's newly installed president Uribe Velez.
